I haven't been doing the best job of consuming either local food or art these past few months. So, today I'm rounding up links to local (mostly in Westchester County, New York) resources to remind me of all the amazing local food and art I have available to me.
Gossett's Farm Market
I haven't been to the farmer's market in months. Gossett's market is my favorite and it happens year-round, so I'll definitely be heading there this Saturday!
Roxbury Farm CSA
We've been part of this wonderful CSA for the past three years, and it's time for us to sign up again (they start accepting applications from new members in February).
Slow Food Metro North
I just joined this chapter of Slow Food USA (and if you live in the area, you should too!)
Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard
Just because apple and pumpkin picking season is over, it doesn't mean that this orchard has nothing to offer. They carry cold-storage apples, local dairy, meat, honey, and lots more.
Farmer and the Fish
Next time my husband and I want to celebrate a special occasion with a dinner out, we'll definitely be heading to this restaurant!
Katonah Museum Artists' Association
I'm going to start working on my application to join this amazing group of artists.
Katonah Art Center
This is within walking distance of my home...someday I'd love to take my son to classes there (and possibly even teach classes there myself!)
The definitive guide to all art-related happenings in Westchester and a wonderful source of info and resources for local artists.
Westchester Community College Center for the Arts
Has a ton of inexpensive art classes for students at different levels. I'd love to take some classes there in mediums I'm not as familiar with.
If you have any suggestions for local food or art resources that I should check out I'd love to hear them!
